Developmental & Autism Assessment Team

A unique and comprehensive assessment service based on international standards for autism prepared by a highly experienced team including a Paediatrician, Clinical Psychologist and Speech Pathologist at Victorian Children’s Clinic.

CHILDREN WHO WOULD BENEFIT FROM THIS ASSESSMENT MAY:

• Have been slow to speak and communicate
• Not respond to other’s attempts to interact with them
• Have behaviours that carers find difficult to manage
• Be fussy eaters or poor sleepers
• Have difficulty coping with changes in routines
• Have difficulty maintaining friendships
• Have advanced skills in some areas
• Be sensitive to or seek sensory experiences including noises, textures, smells and movement.

EACH ASSESSMENT INCLUDES:

• Parent/carer interview
• Medical assessment
• Play based assessment of your child
• Social communication and language assessment
• Observation of your child in their childcare, kindergarten or school
• Feedback meeting including discussion of diagnosis and full report
• Paperwork for eligible funding options
• Treatment planning
