Dr Niroshini Kennedy is an experienced specialist Developmental and Behavioural Paediatrician and General Paediatrician. Dr Kennedy has recently joined the team at Victorian Children’s Clinic after establishing her private practice in Moonee Ponds for over ten years.

Dr Kennedy studied Medicine at the University of Melbourne, graduating with MBBS in 1999. She completed a postgraduate Master of Public Health at the University of Melbourne while completing her paediatric training at the Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne. She is a subspecialty trained Developmental and Behavioural Paediatrician, completing her paediatric Advanced Training in Community Child Health, and was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2008.

Dr Kennedy has worked at the Royal Children’s Hospital for over 20 years, as well as the Victorian Aboriginal Health Service in Fitzroy. She is highly skilled in assessing and managing a range of childhood problems including Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, developmental delay, behavioural problems, learning difficulties, sleep disorders and continence and toileting problems as well as all general paediatric problems.

Dr Kennedy is involved in child health policy and advocacy at a state and national level focusing on the needs of vulnerable children. Dr Kennedy was awarded the 2018 Jack Brockhoff Foundation Churchill Fellowship to investigate models of care for Aboriginal children in state care, and has been selected for the Churchill Trust’s Policy Impact Program Fellowship for 2021-22. She has been an appointed member of the Victoria’s Consultative Council for Paediatric and Obstetric Mortality and Morbidity since 2018. Dr Kennedy is also the Lead Fellow for RACP’s Congress 2021-22.

As a mother of two school-aged children herself, Dr Kennedy brings a keen awareness of the needs of children and families in the modern age and is able to use her extensive networks, knowledge, and experience to help families find practical solutions to their problems. Dr Kennedy brings a holistic approach to her work and is a strong advocate for her patients.
